Tiketike Way

The Project

This development is nestled in the hills of Brooklyn, Wellington. Built on a steep site and designed to maximise both natural light and stunning views. This stage of the development comprises six two story units, built in two blocks. Find out more here.

The Challenge

A steep site that required a solution for units that were slightly cantilevered over the side of the hill. The developer was looking for an effective option for both subfloors and midfloors.

The Solution

Woodspan PLT flooring panels have been used for all the floors in these two blocks. The steep site meant that a mass timber design was efficient compared to concrete subfloors, and much faster than a traditional joist and sheet product option.

“If we have small units requiring mezzanines we would definitely have Woodspan involved. It takes out painting and fire considerations and is good from a building, value and engineering perspective. PLT ticks all the boxes.”
